Crispy and naturally sweet apple chips made with just apples and ground cinnamon using an air fryer. A quick, healthy snack perfect for lunchboxes, snacking, or as a topping for yogurt and oatmeal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 apple (firm variety such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Wash the apple and dry thoroughly.
  2. Slice the apple about 1/8 inch thick using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife for even slices.
  3. Lay the apple slices flat on a clean surface and evenly sprinkle with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  4. Arrange the cinnamon-dusted apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without crowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Set the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and cook the slices for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Flip the slices at about the 5-minute mark to crisp both sides evenly.
  7. Remove the apple chips and let them cool for 15–30 minutes (at least 5 minutes) until they become fully crisp.
  8. Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain crispness.

Notes

To achieve perfectly crispy chips, ensure apple slices are consistently thin (about 1/8 inch) and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket., Cooling the chips completely after cooking helps them crisp up further., If chips start to lose crunch, reheat them in the air fryer at 300°F for 1–2 minutes or warm them in the oven for a few minutes., For longer storage, vacuum seal or use an airtight container with a silica gel packet and keep in a cool, dry place for up to 2–3 weeks., Optional flavor variations include using apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, cardamom, or a pinch of sea salt instead of cinnamon., For sweeter chips, lightly sprinkle coconut sugar or monk fruit sweetener before air frying, but monitor closely to prevent burning.
